Card Conditions

Near Mint – Mint (NM-Mint)

“NM-Mint” cards show minimal to no wear from shuffling and/or general play, although some may show minimal nicks upon close inspection.

Foils under this category have little to no scuffing, clouding, or scratches on the front side.  Any minimal wear is imperceptible when sleeved or regarded from afar.

Cards signed exclusively by the original artist are labeled as “NM-Mint – Signed” if they would have been considered “NM-Mint” otherwise.

Slightly Played (SP)

“SP” cards show minor border wear, corner wear, or very minor binder storage creasing. Minor nicks or indentations, as well as minor surface whitening, may also appear on the backs of “Slightly Played” cards. Foils under this category show light scratching, light clouding, or minor scuffing in due to play wear.

Non-foil cards showing minor printing flaws and foil cards showing minor loss of sheen are also graded as “Slightly Played”.

Cards signed exclusively by the original artist are labeled as “SP – Signed” if they would have been considered “SP” otherwise.

Moderately Played (MP)

“MP” cards show moderate wear due to extensive play. “Moderately Played” cards may show moderate binder creasing, moderate shuffle creasing, moderate corner wear or border wear, extensive whitening on the back, very minor border inking, or minor dirt build up. Foils under this category may show moderate clouding on the front, moderate scuffing, loss of sheen, or moderate scratching.

Cards signed exclusively by the original artist are labeled as “MP – Signed” if they would have been considered “MP” otherwise.

Heavily Played (HP)

“HP” cards show visible, extreme, and/or extensive wear. Please note that “Heavily Played” cards may not be legal for tournament play, even if sleeved. Example of cards in HP condition include cards with extensive border and corner wear, extreme whitening on the back, extensive nicks to the point of tearing, extensive shuffle creases, folding creases, etc.

In some cases, “HP” cards may show puncturing, writing on either the back or the front, major water damage, and extensive dirt build up.

Extreme border wear and/or corner wear is not indicative of a “Heavily Played” card on their own. Rather, a combination of other extreme types of damage (as outlined above) coupled with border wear and corner wear categorizes a card as “HP”.

Cards signed exclusively by the original artist are labeled as “HP – Signed” if they would have been considered “HP” otherwise.
